Wellness is more than being free from illness: it is a process of change and growth towards a mentally and physically healthy lifestyle. However, sometimes choosing wellness or making the right decisions when comes to one's nutrition is not always easy.
Throughout my life, I have struggled personally with choosing the healthy lifestyle. Having PCOs did not make it easier. In fact in made it extremely difficult, with all the sugar and carb cravings I would have. For those who may not be familiar with PCOs (Polycystic ovarian syndrome), is hormonal disorder commonly prevalent in women of reproductive age. Some symptoms include: excess male hormones, infrequent or absent periods, and uncontrollable weight gain to name a few.
After constant battles with my weight, and unhealthy eating, I decided one day I wanted to make realistic changes and have wellness become apart of me not just a chore. I started working with a health coach and nutritionist who helped me make behavior changes versus resorting to an unrealistic yo-yo diet or taking prescription medication.
My personal journey inspired me to want to help others who struggle as well, whether it is with PCOS, or other diet or medical conditions. As a certified Personal Trainer and working with a Nutrionist, I have gained so much knowledge and insight about health and fitness. Through my personal journey I have become motivated to help others achieve optimal wellness. Wellness should be applied to every possible endeavor, including: your environment, career, physical activities, self-care, healthy eating and so much more. Applying wellness in your everyday life will allow you to achieve your full potential and live with passion and purpose. Exercising and eating right does not have to be boring and un-motivating. Tree-Fit was created as a platform to help motivate and empower others from all avenues achieve wellness, and finally feel their best!
